CPS Director Sergiy SHTUKARIN took part in the press conference on public diplomacy in European integraiton, conducted at the Donetsk Press Club.

7 липня у Донецькому прес-клубі відбулося засідання, під час якого обговорювалась актуальність формування української публічної дипломатії в сфері євроінтеграції. У заході взяли участь: заступник директора Наукового інформаційного центру міжнародної безпеки та євроатлантичної співпраці при ДонНУ Ігор Тодоров, виконавчий директор Центру політологічних досліджень Серій Штукарін.

Center for Political Studies invites professors and students to familiarize with the new literature, purchased within the institutional support project financed by the Think Tank Fund of the Open Society Institute - Budapest.

Sumy Center for European Initiatives published the results of the public opinion poll on the attituted of Sumy region residents on EU and NATO.
Difference between those who believe that relations with the Russian Federation should be a priority vs. the European Union (38,5 % vs. 36,3 %) not so drastic as the difference among the general population and the expert community (52,2 % for the EU).

 CPS members met with Jaroslav Bashta, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic in Ukraine to discuss current relations between Ukraine and the EU.
Czech Republic started its Presidency in the EU in the circumstances of the most severe energy crisis in decades. Over the gas dispute between Ukraine and Russian Federation many European did not enjoy the aftermath of winter holidays this year.
Jaroslav Bashta restated the opinion voiced earlier by the European Commission President Jose Barroso, who said that the EU can not be certain in both Russia as gas exporter and Ukraine as transit country. He mentioned that perhaps both sides of the gas dispute were preparing for the crisis in advance with Ukraine filling its undersurface gas reserves and Russia planning to support its plans for alternative pipelines. European clubs became the first to celebrate the start of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation (2009) in Ukraine. After the presentation of the Year, which was attended by representatives of the Czech Republic and the European Commission, Euroclubs participated in a workshop on creativity and innovation on 12-14 January in Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine.
Around 33 members of Euroclubs from different corners of Ukraine, selected among active participants of the project "Supporting the Network of Euroclubs in Ukraine", took part in the national workshop.  Donetsk regional chapter of the Ukrainian European Studies Association held a presentation of the office for experts in the sphere of European integration within the framework of celebrations of Day of Diplomatic Service in Ukraine on 19 December.
Presentation was attended by UESA President prof. Roman Petrov, members of regional office, professors and researchers of leading universities, Representative of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, students.
Basis of the Chapter's activity is the Center for Political Studies and Center for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation at the Donetsk National University.

The Center is going to apply for the Visegrad University Studies Grant, in partnership with the Donetsk National University and Center's partner institutions from Visegrad Countries.
The Visegrad University Studies Grant is a grant for universities. Its aim is to promote and support the development and launching of outstanding university courses or study programs that deal with specific phenomena explicitly related to the Visegrad Group countries. The grant is intended as a lump-sum, one-installment grant awarded to selected university departments, schools or faculties, which can document ready syllabus/curriculum of such a course/program and confirm its planned long-term enrollment in a given curriculum.
